1RBC Gaming Weekly. https://youtu.be/KiJCc0DI9p8 If you’re a Linux user interested in checking out SteamVR, you can get it through Valve’s GitHub here; it’s currently in beta. If you’re a game developer interested in making VR games, you may be pleased to hear that the course for SteamVR tracking training has gone from $3,000 and requiring you to show up to learn in person to totally free-and completely doable from the comfort of your own home. You can check that out here– you can now take advantage of the course to employ Valve’s Lighthouse tracking system in your VR project. Regarding the week’s crowdfunding projects, the first is Narita Boy, a retro-inspired platformer that draws on quite a number of sources, both old and new, to create something that looks very… Refined? It doesn’t look as though it does a whole lot that’s new- rather, it seems to take good elements and blend them into something that’s a love-letter to those things while at the same time, it’s its own thing. The other crowdfunding project that caught our attention is for Hyper Sentinel, a retro-styled shmup. I’ll be honest, I’m not that much of a shmup person but I have to say that I like the look of this one- also, one of the backer rewards- a USB drive encased in a cassette tape that’s loaded with developer diaries and other bonus content- that’s caught my attention.
